Byron M. Holly, Jr. 86, of Toledo, OH, and formerly of Erie, Michigan, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018, at The Grove at Oak Leaf Village surrounded by his loving family. Born January 23, 1932, in Toledo, OH, he was the son of Byron M. and Agnes G. (Dethlefsen) Holly, Sr. He was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and then attended the University of Toledo, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Byron was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He married Beth A. Lammiman on September 19, 1953 and she preceded him in death on May 23, 2016. Byron was employed by the Dana Corporation, Spicer Division for over 25 years, retiring in 1987. He then worked for Regal Beloit and R. Cushman & Associates. He was a member of Lambertville United Methodist Church and former member of the Collingwood United Methodist Church. Byron was a do-it yourself man, who enjoyed spending his summers in the Upper Peninsula and building radio controlled boats with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving children, Debra (Mark) Charpie, Jim (Nancy) Holly and Susie (Jim) Chandler; grandchildren, Scott (Bethany), Dawson (Chelsea), Chad (Kelly) and Beth Ann (Troy); great grandchildren, Andrew, Madison, Jack, Quinn, Chandler and Wells. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Leigh Ann; and great granddaughter, Mallory.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at Lambertville United Methodist Church, (Dean at Douglas Rd) Lambertville, MI, where he will lie in state after 10:00 am. Pastor Devin Smith, officiating. Memorials may be made to Ohio Living Home Health & Hospice or Lambertville UM Church.
